A temporary float and ramp is found at the site of a proposed wharf
and docking system. This structure, on the lee side of the island, allows
for public access untill the permanent structure can be built. Visitors may also tie off to the Burnt Island mooring.
Anchorage is prohibited in this area due to an underwater power cable and
water line. When the Burnt Island Lighthouse Educational Facility opens
to the public, a water taxi will provide service to and from the island. |
